For the December issue of ALEXA (for the New York Post), I chatted with actress Melissa Benoist. She used to start on Glee, is currently starring on The CW’s show Supergirl, and about to be on the big screen in the Peter Berg film about the Boston Marathon bombing Patriot’s Day.

You can read the full story here: How Supergirl Melissa Benoist channeled a Boston Marathon bomber’s widow.

Check out the story to read more about Melissa and to see some daaaaaaamn beautiful holiday fashion.

The Unstoppable Ellie Kemper

I love Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt on Netflix. And, now that I got to sit down with its star for the cover of the New York Post‘s ALEXA fashion special, I love Ellie Kemper, too.

Screen Shot 2016-05-04 at 11.39.49 AMHere’s my interview with the warm and hilarious actress in the latest issue as she talks about her career, her husband, her off-set style (which is about as casual as it gets), her experiences working with show creator Tina Fey, and some of the funny and inspiring moments she’s had at work along the way.

You can read the full story here: Ellie Kemper Is As Wide-Eyed About New York as Kimmy Schmidt, in the New York Post.

Sarah Hay and the Ballet

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2015

One of my latest feature interviews allowed me to talk a lot about a topic I haven’t had a chance to cover before: ballet. The story was for the New York Post‘s ALEXA fashion special. The subject: Professional ballet dancer Sarah Hay, who is currently the lead in the Starz drama Flesh & Bone, co-created by a former Breaking Bad writer. Oh, and it’s good people—real good.

After bingeing the eight-episode series, I got to talk all about it with Sarah, which you can read here: Sarah Hay in ALEXA magazine. We talked about how this was her first acting role ever, how true the ballet world in the show is actually depicted, and how she struggled within the dance world herself before rising to the top.

Dylan Penn: The Next Generation

Tuesday, November 24th, 2015

It’s almost uncanny how much Dylan Penn looks like her mother, Robin Wright. (With maybe a dash of her dad Sean Penn thrown in.) But when I got to sit and talk with her for a recent issue of ALEXA magazine with the New York Post, I got to see that she is forging her own path.

Right now, she’s modeling and acting in the film Condemned (a horror film set in a condemned New York City building). But she’s also looking toward the future, watching and learning from her parents and hoping to get behind the camera to tell the stories she wants to tell.

Talking Weddings with Adorably Gorgeous Fashion Star Jamie Chung

Tuesday, April 14th, 2015

I had a new kind of topic to delve into recently: weddings, for the New York Post ALEXA Weddings issue.

And I couldn’t have been luckier with the first celebrity to grace its cover: Jamie Chung. Actress. Fashion maven (you must check out her site whatthechung.com, which will make you drool). Cool-ass woman. And fiancé for just a little bit longer, until she marries fellow actor Bryan Greenberg this fall. (I’m counting the days until their film It’s Already Tomorrow in Hong Kong is released.)

I had a great chat about a week ago with Joanna Philbin, the daughter of one of the funniest hosts on television, Regis. She just published the first book in a three-book series for young women called The Daughters. The rest of the series starts rolling out in November, and this one’s really cute. She’s a great writer and a cool chick.

So check out my Joanna Philbin profile as it just appeared in The New York Post.
